Welcome to Rustic River Escape! NEW to our Family Summer 2021
Rustic River Escape is a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom cabin tucked away in the woods with river frontage access. Located about 15 minutes to Downtown West Jefferson in Ashe County. Sleeps up to 8 guests, ping pong, WIFI, central heat and AC, pets are considered with a separate fee, covered deck, fire pit and is a great way to unplug and unwind the hustle and bustle of everyday life! The access to the South Fork of the New River is a short hike down the walking path (no vehicles) to enjoy fishing or swimming. The hike is a steep but there is a designated clear path.
Our cabin is located approximately 15 minutes to downtown West Jefferson on a graveled country road. Front wheel drive vehicles will not have any issues. However, we do strongly recommend 4WD/AWD vehicles during the snowy/icy times of winter. Our cabin is not motorcycle friendly.
We have a 3 night minimum for the months of June, July and August.
MAIN FLOOR: As you enter our cabin from the covered porch, you’ll walk in and find T&G wood with high ceilings in the living room. Enjoy the gas stove in the living room during the cold fall/winter days and snuggle up to watch your favorite movie on the Roku TV (your login is needed). The kitchen is fully stocked including a Keurig maker and a regular coffee maker. There is access to the covered deck from the living room where you can enjoy the beauty of Mother Nature and the sounds of the nearby river. Enjoy making your favorite grilled dinner on our gas grill on the deck.
There are 2 spacious queen size bedrooms and 1 full bathroom on the main floor. One of the queen beds has a Sleep Number bed for the ultimate comfort.
UPPER FLOOR: The master suite is located on the upper floor with an En Suite full bathroom and TV with Apple TV access. The loft is great for reading, taking a nap or just relaxing with a futon (not for sleeping).
LOWER LEVEL: The lower level is amazing and there is plenty of seating, Roku TV, another gas fireplace, and everyone will enjoy a friendly game of Ping Pong! There are several books to read as well.
The 4th bedroom is located on the lower level with 2 twin beds and a full bathroom. The full size washer/dryer is also just off the bedroom for your convenience. There is a lower deck with seating to relax and take it all in.
At "Rustic River Escape", we believe that nobody should be left behind. Why leave your pet at home when you can bring them along for the adventure. Well behaved dogs are welcome for a 1 time nonrefundable pet fee of $75 per dog plus tax (sorry, but no cats allowed).
OUTSIDE: Create new memories, roast marshmallows, roast hot dogs or just sit around and listen to the crackle of the wood in our fire pit in the yard (firewood not provided). Take a short hike down to the river and go fishing (fishing license required), swimming, or enjoy the sounds of the river. There is plenty of room outside to roam and explore. Take long walks on the graveled road, enjoy your favorite beverage on the covered decks, grill your favorite meal on the gas grill, and breathe in our fresh mountain air! This is a TRUE mountain experience!

As you plan your trip to the mountains, please remember we do get rain, snow and some foggy days and occasional inconveniences which are out of our control. Winter weather in the Blue Ridge Mountains can occur from November through April. The majority of our homes are accessed by mountain roads, which will be icy in winter weather. For the safety of you and your party, please be prepared to drive in snow and ice. This means 4-wheel drive, good tires, and chains. It is your responsibility to be prepared for hazardous road conditions.
