Great location, beautiful home
Grandfather Cottage is truly a hidden gem nestled right at the base of Grandfather Mountain. The location could not be more perfect—tucked away on a quiet, peaceful street where the only sound at night is the wind softly blowing through the trees. You can even walk to the nearby winery, which was such a fun and unexpected bonus! The home itself is stunning with a layout that works beautifully for families, a group of friends, or even a couples’ getaway. Every space feels thoughtfully designed and incredibly inviting. The living area with the cozy fireplace made it hard to leave, and the bathrooms are modern. And the bed… hands down, the most comfortable sleep I’ve ever had in my life. In the mornings, sipping coffee while taking in the silhouette of Grandfather Mountain in the distance felt absolutely magical. Restaurants are just minutes away, but the cottage still feels like a peaceful escape from the world. I fell in love with this place and truly cannot wait to come back. Highly, highly recommend!

Unforgettable Time with Friends and Our Pup at Grandfather Cottage
We had the most incredible stay at Grandfather Cottage! From the moment we arrived, it felt so cozy and homey–like a true mountain retreat. My husband, our dog, and a few close friends joined us, and it was the perfect spot for a relaxing yet fun-filled getaway. The location couldn’t have been better–nestled between Boone and Banner Elk and just a short walk to Grandfather Vineyard, where we enjoyed wine, great food, and live music in the evenings. It was such a memorable part of our trip. The cottage was beautiful, rustic and modern at the same time, with lots of natural light and cozy wood touches. The kitchen had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We especially loved the outdoor spaces: sipping coffee on the deck, grilling in the evenings, and relaxing by the fire pit under the stars. It truly felt like a peaceful escape and we can’t wait to come back! ~Maria and Kevin

Gorgeous View - Relaxing Space
My wife and I took a trip up to Banner Elk to decompress from a long week of work. This rental had it all. The amenities inside the house were incredibly clean, layout is so cute and was perfect to flip on the fireplace and let the dogs out. The surrounding area is really cute and quaint. The restaurants are amazing and breakfast at Holloway's is a must. We took a few trips into Blowing Rock and hiked on a few trails just miles from the home. You aren't far from anything, be it Boone, Banner Elk downtown, skiing, etc. Wine after a long hike really is a different ball game! Will be coming back!
