Hi! I have a question regarding the access to the house. In winter time when is snowing, is it easy to arrive by car or I need a 4x4 car or even some special snow tires? Thank you!
Answer:
The roads to High Nest Lodge are fully paved, and the cabin sits at an elevation of over 4,400 feet. In the winter, snow and ice can be unpredictable. Depending on conditions, you may need a 4x4 or AWD vehicle with good snow tires and possibly chains. We strongly recommend being prepared for winter driving, as weather can change quickly and conditions are often hard to predict. For peace of mind, it’s always best to have a suitable vehicle when staying in the mountains during the winter months.
