Mountain Splendor is a one-of-a-kind, professionally decorated timber frame mountain log home is a spectacular destination for your mountain getaway! There is a LOT of space with over 5,600 sq. ft. and 3 levels on 8 acres (our cabin is not secluded)! Our home is accessed by all paved state maintained roads for easy access. The driveway offers a circular graveled driveway with parking for 5-6 vehicles. Located just 20 minutes from Boone, shopping, restaurants and ASU, in the quiet community of Sugar Grove. Our remarkable home is 25-30 minutes to 2 public golf courses and Watauga Lake (TN), and a short drive to other High Country attractions like Tweetsie Railroad (30-35 minutes) and Grandfather Mountain (45 minutes).
Enter our cabin via a tiled foyer area with overhead chandelier and half bath. The well-equipped kitchen has long granite counters, a butcher block island, Keurig maker AND a regular coffee maker, stainless steel appliances including a 5 burner gas stove. A laundry room is off the kitchen as well with a full size front end loading washer and dryer. The dining table with room for at least 12 is just a few steps away. Beyond the dining area is the great room with soaring exposed beam cathedral T&G ceilings, accented by a stone wood burning fireplace stretching to the ceiling and a wall of windows facing the east view. Comfortable furnishings are arranged around the fireplace and the large HDTV with DirecTV and all the sports and movie packages.
The main level has the enormous master suite. This relaxing haven has a four-post King bed, a padded window seat, French doors to the deck, and a wall-mounted HDTV. The private spa-like bathroom has a glass and tile double headed shower, heated tile floors, a separate soaking tub, and double granite vanities, plus a large walk-in closet with built in storage options.
Upstairs is a loft with a denim sectional sofa facing another HDTV with a Playstation3 console, as well as a selection of young children’s toys. Another King master suite is on the south wing of this floor, with an HDTV and a private bathroom with a tub/shower and double granite vanities. The north wing of the top floor has two more bedrooms, one with a twin daybed with twin trundle underneath and the other with a twin-over-full bunk bed. Each bedroom has its own TV, and there is another full bathroom shared by these bedrooms and the loft.
Downstairs is a second living area, with a circular sofa arranged around a massive stone woodburning fireplace with a niche for wood storage. A 60” HDTV is mounted above the fireplace with surround sound speakers throughout the room, and a home arcade with over 30 classic games is just around the corner. There is a pool table, a wet bar, a table & chairs, mini-fridge, and a sectional sofa on the north wing, along with another HDTV. The south wing has two more bedrooms, one with a King bed and the other with two twin beds, each with its own TV, and there is a full bath shared by these two bedrooms.
The outdoor living spaces are sure to help you forget your cares and relax in the mountains! The lower level deck has a huge 7-person hot tub overlooking the mountain view, as well as two café-style iron patio tables and chairs. The main level deck wraps completely around the house, with a screened in portion on the north wing featuring a custom-built bar-style high table and benches created by a local craftsman. Cornhole boards, a gas grill, and an arrangement of padded outdoor seating complete the deck features. The barn located on the property contains all the firewood you’ll need for your stay.
SKI RESORT DISTANCES: Appalachian Ski Mountain-35 minutes (20.5 miles); Sugar Mountain Ski Resort-40 minutes (24 miles); Beech Mountain Ski Resort-30 minutes (13.5 miles); Hawksnest Snow Tubing/Zipline-40 minutes (22.4 miles).

This home has a stock pot, but I am unsure of the size. Each home is stocked with basic cooking supplies, so you may want to bring yours if you need it.
